Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) is the measurement of a material's resistance to penetration of bacteria. Using an independent, international laboratory, we compared the BFE of our BodyShield with that of an unbranded single-use fitted bed cover.
Purifas sponsored a clinical trial that was developed and completed by an independent microbiologist from Macquarie University in Sydney. The purpose of the trial was to determine:
• The average number of bacteria colony-forming units (CFU) that appeared after swabbing a therapy bed that had been used for a 10-minute massage.
• The effectiveness of our BodyShield in significantly reducing the transfer of bacteria and the risk of infection to your clients.
